For this weeks fit tip I want to go over some basics with nutrition. People have deemed carbohydrates as “bad” or “unhealthy” when that is truly not the case. Carbs are on of the three macronutrients necessary for living and producing energy. The issues comes when we take in more carbs than is needed, and not enough protein and fats.
The best way I’ve found to combat this is simply up your protein game. Center every single meal around the protein. Most people don’t get enough protein anyways so increasing your intake of protein can have numerous benefits. If you do that you are going to be satisfied quicker during your meals and less likely to over indulge in the unnecessary carbs.
Sticking to complex carbs vs. simple carbs is also going to help you feel full longer and have more consistent energy levels. Foods like ancient grains, quinoa, vegetables, and potatoes are better options than bread, cereal, or pasta.
